Digital files can be collected from a suspect's computer during an investigation because they often contain crucial information related to the case. This can include documents, emails, images, software, and even system logs that may provide insight into a suspect's activities and intentions. Digital files serve as direct evidence of actions taken or communications made, which can be pivotal in establishing a timeline of events or demonstrating malicious intent.

While verbal testimonies can provide context or clarify certain aspects of a case, they do not come directly from the computer itself and are not considered digital evidence. Physical server hardware, while relevant to a broader investigation, does not directly represent the data or activities being analyzed on a suspect's computer. Therefore, digital files are the most relevant type of evidence collected when examining an individual's computer in an investigation.
